Golden joy

Honestly, I never really explored Golden Joy so far and I really regret it now. Once I found out that the most sought-after Chinese restaurant in China town serves utter bad food, I decided to give Golden Joy a go. And I wasn’t disappointed.

Ambience and Staff
The restaurant is spacious and well lit. The Service was prompt. As swift as a good restaurant in peak hours should be.

What did we order?
Chicken Coriander soup; Cantonese mix Chow; Prawn in Black bean Sauce

Chicken Coriander Soup was piping hot when served. The meat in the soup was fresh and tender. The Cilantro/Coriander leaves were fresh and lend a distinct individual taste to the soup. A clear soup with a strong aroma of Coriander is something i liked in a winter night. A small word of advice for people who loves to put a bit of vinegar in their soup, avoid doing that for this one. You’d love the uniqueness of Cilantro.

Chicken Coriander Soup

Cantonese Mix Chow is noodles cooked in Cantonese gravy style. The vegetables consisted of mostly asparagus, carrots, onions and bell peppers. All the vegetables were fresh and very appropriately cooked. Not soggy not too crunchy. Cantonese Chow Mein is a very common variant and Golden Joy took special care of even the commonest dish and made it well.

Prawn in Black bean Sauce was another dish i loved in Golden Joy. Succulent prawns cooked in black bean sauce. As simple as it gets, the sweet and sour taste of black bean had totally sunk into the prawn, making the taste of prawn aggravate with that of the black bean sauce. The tastes of distinct and individual, yet together it really made a good dish.

I liked the service and food in Golden Joy. Would love to visit them a few more times and try out what they have to offer. In recent times, they are the best chinese restaurant in China town. I would rank then a good 3 out of 5.
